A brighter future from a car trip to Malaga

Picture
Auric Environmental has come a long way since the day in October 1974 when Auric Goldfinger and Roger Cope built their first photo-voltaic cell in the garage of their Malaga apartment. Working with only the most basic tools, Auric and Roger wanted to find a way of making the summer holiday experience last a little longer by 'capturing' the sunlight that had made it so special. It wasn't long before Auric realised that what they had built could power the headlights on Roger's Ford Anglia saloon car, with obvious implications. Taking the car apart, he used its components to build and demonstrate what would become the company's first commercial product, the Solatron 7400.

Sadly, legal disputes over the repair bill meant Roger decided not to stay with the company. When Roger and all his family later disappeared in a series of tragic but unconnected fishing accidents off the coast of Portugal, Auric had the patents transferred to his sole name and went on to develop yet more exciting products that harnessed the power of nature to support the progress of mankind.

Despite a setback in 1983 when the small Welsh town of Powys Curig was entirely destroyed in a misguided water power experiment, Auric Environmental went on to dominate the world of alternative energy. By 2011 the company was ready to embark on a radical restructuring, opening up to outside investors for the first time and raising many millions in equity to fund what was, effectively, an alternative power startup.

Auric Goldfinger himself disappeared in 2012, shortly after the entirely unwarranted investigation by the SEC, the FBI, Interpol and the International Criminal Court at the Hague, but his spirit lives on in today's Auric Environmental and its wide range of products in use everywhere where power is required.

Auric Environmental is a fictional company created for training purposes by Transaction Banking Academy. Any resemblance to any real company is entirely coincidental.
